Juvederm Voluma™ XC is the newest addition to the Juvederm product line. While Juvederm Voluma is made of hyaluronic acid, it is designed to provide more lifting and volume correction than the other Juvederm products. Juvederm Voluma should not be injected superficially for the correction of fine lines and wrinkles. Areas in which Juvederm Voluma are commonly used include the midface, temples, jaw line, shin, and others. Due to its unique chemical structure, Juvederm Voluma typically has a much longer duration of effect then do the other Juvederm products.
As is true of all injectable agents, it is extremely important that Juvederm Voluma be administered by a highly experienced injector. It is not only important to administer Voluma in a technically correct manner but the superb injector also has a 3-dimensional understanding of facial aesthetics, the changes which occur in the face as a result of the aging process, and the ability to use an injectable product to achieve a more youthful appearance without looking overtreated or unnatural.
The precautions observed before and after the administration of other injectable fillers apply to the administration of Juvederm Voluma.
