Causes of Dark Circles & How Dr. Biesman Treats

    1. Hollowing caused by bulging fat above: When fat bulges above the under-eye, it creates hollows below, making eyes look sunken and tired. Lower blepharoplasty is often the best solution, though dermal fillers can help in some cases.

    2. Genetic hollowing: Naturally deep tear troughs can create or worsen dark circles. Hyaluronic acid fillers like Restylane® reduce shadowing and brighten the under-eye area.

    3. Purplish discoloration: Thin under-eye skin reveals underlying blood vessels, causing a purplish or bluish tint that’s often worsened by allergies or lack of sleep. Dr. Biesman’s team has developed an effective vascular laser protocol to improve discoloration.

    4. Superficial brown pigmentation: Excess melanin, often from sun exposure, inflammation, or genetics, can darken the under-eye area. Laser treatments and medical-grade skincare help target pigmentation and restore brightness.
